News Article | 29th March 2010 » Scimitars down the Jets with 4 Point Weekend
The Scimitars finished the regular 2009-10 League season on a high with a rare 4 point weekend after beating Slough Jets home and away.
A tight 4-3 win on Saturday in Slough gave the Scimitars a boost before they returned home for a resounding 7-2 win at home, after being outshot 44 to 22.
The Scimitars buckled down well as the team became increasingly short-benched over the weekend. They finished the game on Sunday with just 12 outskaters after they lost the services of Lewis Bell to a match penalty for accidental high sticks. They will hope to have some players returning to the ice for Saturday.
Next weekend is the tough test though, as they face off against Slough away on Saturday and home on Easter Sunday, this time with a place in the Semi-finals at Coventry as the prize. Can they shoot down the Jets over two consecutive weekends?
