Sheffield Scimitars v Swindon Wildcats - Saturday 13th February 7.30pm at iceSheffield

The SCIMITARS are aiming for maximum points this weekend as they take on Swindon Wildcats at home on Saturday at iceSheffield followed by Basingstoke Bison away on Sunday.

Jon Rowbotham's young side saw their losing streak extended to five games last weekend after an overtime loss at home to Peterborough Phantoms was followed by a 3-1 defeat at Bracknell Bees.

Swindon arrive at Ice Sheffield ninth in the EPL table having a record of W2, L2, OTL 1 in the last five games since they re-signed ex-Swindon goalkeeper, Chris Douglas. He has made it hard work for some top teams to score since he has been in net.

Last week saw Wildcats narrowly lose out in overtime against current league leaders, Milton Keynes Lightning, and Swindon are gaining some self-belief as they strive to make the play-offs.

However Scimitars 2-1 up in the series so far and will be out for revenge against Saturday's visitors to reverse the 3-4 loss in Sheffield back in October. Since then, Sheffield have won twice at Swindon and will want to extend that at home.

On Sunday, they return to Hampshire, 5.30pm face-off, where they were beaten 5-1 by Basingstoke Bison two weeks ago.

The former Elite League club has pulled itself above Scimitars and up to fifth in the table thanks to winning seven out of their last ten games.
