SHEFFIELD SCIMITARS will be aiming to end a three-game losing streak when they face Bracknell Bees at iceSheffield this Saturday.
Scimitars were unlucky to lose out on a penalty shootout to league leaders Milton Keynes Lightning last Sunday and will be looking to bounce back with a four-point weekend, hopefully with their captain, Peter Slamiar, back in the line-up.
Bracknell come to iceSheffield having won only two of the last nine games, the latter triumph coming in the shape of a 7-3 win over second-from-bottom Swindon Wildcats. It was an impressive way for Claude Dumas's side to bounce back after the 11-2 mauling they received at Peterborough the previous night.
Bracknell did however, win their last meeting 4-2 against Scimitars - also at iceSheffield - to give them a 2-1 lead in the series between the two clubs.
On Sunday the Scimitars travel down to Peterborough for their fourth meeting this season. After only claiming one point from their opening nine games of the season, champions Peterborough have rediscovered the kind of form that helped them become treble winners last season, winning seven of their last 10 games to sit seventh in the table - one place and five points behind Scimitars who have won all three encounters between the two sides this season.
The last meeting between the two sides came on November 7 in Peterborough when Scimitars won 5-2 thanks to goals from Tom Squires, Stephen Wallace, James Archer, Mark Stewart and Stuart Brittle.
Tickets for Saturday against Bracknell Bees available from iceSheffield and on matchnight.
