PREVIEW 12.1.10
Sheffield Scimitars v Peterborough Phantoms this Sunday 5.30pm - iceSheffield
Another tough weekend - as Scimitars face-off against the same two teams as last weekend, Peterborough and Bracknell, but in reverse home and away venues.
Sunday's home game will be the 5th meeting against Peterborough, with the Scimitars having a 3-1 advantage so far.
However, the Scimitars lost a close game last Sunday in Peterborough, despite the Phantoms missing some key players, and Coach Jon Rowbotham will be working hard with the players this week to counter the influence Peterborough's new 6' 5" Canadian defenceman, Doug MacIver has had, even whilst playing with an injury. Peterborough's recent big signing has already made an impact in helping turn the Phantoms' season around with a steady rise in points. They sit one place and two points behind the Scimitars but having played two more games.
Another tight and physical game is in store for the fans on Sunday and their great value tickets will be available on matchnight.

Prior to that, on Saturday, Scimitars travel down to Bracknell for the second time this season, after losing 2-3 to the Bees at iceSheffield last Saturday. Bracknell have won the last three encounters with the Scimitars, who opened the 2009-10 account with an 8-5 win. Bracknell is another team who play a very physical game against Sheffield to thwart the speed and work ethic of the young Scimitars' team.
Jon Rowbotham was very disappointed with the two losses last weekend and will be targeting two wins this weekend. The Scimitars will be playing without Stephen Wallace in the line-up after his release on Tuesday, but should otherwise be at full strength.
