Sheffield Scimitars v Romford Raiders Saturday, 23rd January, 7.30pm at iceSheffield.

Scimitars face 10th placed Romford Raiders this Saturday 23rd January for the 4th encounter between the two teams. Sheffield have a 3-0 record to date, which includes two wins away in Romford, a notoriously difficult venue to take points from.

Coincidentally, the last time the Scimitars tasted victory was against Saturday's visitors to Ice Sheffield when they saw off struggling Romford 6-2 thanks to goals from Peter Slamiar, Mark Stewart, Chris Wilcox, Chris Sykes and two from recently-departed forward Stephen Wallace.

The two other meetings so far this season between the two sides have also ended positively for Scimitars, winning 5-3 at home on September 20 and 6-2 at Romford just over a month later.

However, given Scimitars current form and Romford adding two more players to its roster, import Darius Pliskauskas and D-man Tyrone Miller plus a replacement coach for departing Jesse Hamill, returnee Eskine Douglas, means that Jon Rowbotham and the Scimitars will not be complacent.

The new 29 year old Lithuanian import for Romford, moves from Edinburgh and has an Elite league pedigree as well as playing in some top leagues in and around Russia. He enjoyed his debut last weekend and racked up 3 goals and 3 assists in the two games.

Tyrone Miller transfers from Basingstoke for his 10th season at Romford along with Coach Erskine Douglas who has been coach with Romford in the past for many seasons and is the Head Coach for the EIHA.

There will be plenty of action in this game as Romford are traditionally a physical team and both teams will fighting to take the points on offer, especially as the two meet again on Sunday down in Romford.

Tickets for Saturday can be obtained on the night and are priced at:
Adult £8.50 Child £4.00 Concession £6.00 Family £20.00
