News Article | 20th December 2009 » Scimitars overcome the Raiders
The Scimitars grabbed another two points in their first home game back at iceSheffield in December.
Running with a very short bench of 14 which included bringing two young players up from the ENL, the Scimitars held on with a one goal lead into the third until a sudden burst of two goals in 40 seconds steadied the nerves.
Missing Steve Duncombe through illness and the GB U20's players who were winning Gold in Hungary, the Scimitars battled against Romford Raiders who looked at times as though they could spoil the party, but yet again, Scimitars dug deep for a good win.
Next up are Manchester Phoenix after a snowy journey over the Pennines to face a team who will be smarting after their 7-1 loss in Slough. A tough game in store, face-off 5.30pm in Altrincham.
