PREVIEW FOR WEEKEND OF DEC 12-13
SHEFFIELD SCIMITARS will be looking for more of the same from their latest road trip when they head to Swindon Wildcats this Saturday.
With iceSheffield supporting the Arena in their hosting of the BBC's Sports Personality of the Year Awards ceremony, the Scimitars are again limited to the one match-up over the two days. Head coach Jon Rowbotham's side approach Saturday's trip to White Hill Way in confident mood coming on the back of last week's fantastic 8-4 victory at Guildford Flames.
Wildcats have been struggling of late and welcome Scimitars to Wiltshire having lost their last seven games, the latest defeats coming last weekend when they followed up Saturday's 4-1 defeat at home to Peterborough Phantoms with a 3-1 defeat at Slough Jets.
It's all-square between Scimitars and Swindon so far this season, the Wildcats striking first at Ice Sheffield back in October with a 4-3 triumph before their South Yorkshire rivals got their own back with a 5-3 road win on November 21.
The Scimitars will be without their GB U20's, Matt Haywood, Tom Squires and goalie Ben Bowns for this weekend's game as they head off to the World Championships. However, Jon Rowbotham will be working on his strategy to cope with this situation and hope for a united team effort from the remaining players against as they take on Swindon.
