Sheffield Scimitars v Milton Keynes Lightning - Sunday 3rd January 2010, face-off 5.30pm at iceSheffield

The Scimitars take on Milton Keynes Lightning in their first visit to iceSheffield this season, with the points from the two away games being split 50-50. This game counts for the Scimitars last points in the Cup and a chance to leapfrog Guildford to take 4th place. Guildford, also vying for a semi-final berth, will play Manchester on 16th January.

Milton Keynes will provide tough opposition on Sunday having had a complete Christmas break, though they will be missing one of their top scorers, Andre Smulter, who suffered a fractured jaw in their Basingstoke game on 19th December. Lightning currently sit at the top of the League table and will be hoping to maintain that spot when all the teams are back in action at the start of the New Year.

Games between these two teams are always fast, end to end and entertaining to watch, so there should be plenty of action on Sunday at iceSheffield.

Scimitars travel to Slough on Saturday for another tough game against 3rd place opposition, though enjoying a 2-0 record against the Jets to date.
