Tonight - Sunday at 5.30pm

After a superb 60 minute team display last night, of energized and entertaining hockey in their 2-5 victory over Peterborough Phantoms, the Scimitars return home tonight with confidence riding high.

Slough will also be on a high after beating Milton Keynes 6-3 so Sunday at iceSheffield really will become a battle for the points and league positioning, with a great game in store.

The Scimitars have a quick return match against Slough Jets after their great 7-3 win down at the Hangar last Saturday, so a very competitive match is in store as Slough seek revenge on Scimitars' home ice.

The Scimitars struck gold in front of net last weekend scoring 12 and conceding only 6. They also moved up to 5th place and are just two points behind Slough who lie in 3rd, so this weekend will be crucial for league positioning.

Coach Pete Russell will have taken good note of how the Scimitars played and will be planning his strategy to thwart the Scimitars' ambition to increase their 4 game winning streak, but Jon Rowbotham will also have done his homework well for the second round.

On Saturday the Scimitars travel down to Peterborough to play last season's Grand Slam winners, who have had a tough start to this season but who turned their fortunes around dramatically last week for their own 4 point weekend. They are several points adrift in 8th position but cannot be taken lightly after their achievements last year.

So another tough weekend for the Scimitars but with confidence and expectations running high, Coach Jon Rowbotham will be fine-tuning his game plans for both days.
