News Article | 20th November 2009 » Sunday - Scimitars v Basingstoke Bison - 5.30pm

Scimitars rise to 4th position in the League table following Saturday's win in Swindon. A superb effort by the team, especially coming back from 0-3 in the first period to win 3-5.

PREVIEW
Sheffield Scimitars v Basingstoke Bison - Sunday 22nd November 5.30pm, iceSheffield.

The Scimitars face off against Basingstoke Bison this Sunday in their third encounter, after first travelling down to Swindon on Saturday where they will face newly-signed Jason Casells in a Swindon jersey, after his release from Peterborough.

Sunday's game will be fast and entertaining as the two teams battle for the points and league position.

Sheffield have taken 3 points from the 2 games played against Bison so far and lie just one place (5th) and one point ahead of the Bison. Basingstoke, like Sheffield, did not fare as well last weekend and both will be intent on taking the 2 points on offer to get back to winning ways.

Basingstoke were missing a few players last week with sickness or injury plus Nicky Chinn sitting out a match penalty, whilst Sheffield played again with just 2 imports but with an otherwise full squad.

However, Steve Moria, Nicky Chinn and Steve Moria will be back in town on Sunday along with an ex-Sheffield goalie, Davey Lawrence. Jon Rowbotham's Scimitars will be fully primed as they face-off against hot shot Ondrej Lauko, who lies 2nd in the League points table and veteran Steve Moria in 10th place.

Following the Scimitars record crowd last Sunday, early purchase of tickets will avoid queuing.

Tickets: Adult £8.50 Child £4.00 Concession £6.00 Family £20.00
Available from iceSheffield reception or on match nights.
