News Article | 19th September 2009 » Season starts - Saturday 19th Sept v Peterborough Phantoms 7.30pm
The waiting is over and all the preparation pre-season will be tested tonight as the Scimitars' opening game of the season is against last season's Grand Slam winners - Peterborough Phantoms, FO 7.30pm.
The Scimitars start the season with several excellent pre-season challenge games under their belt and will be ready to pit their strength against last season's highest scoring team.
The Phantoms come in with titles to defend under a new coach and some new faces on the team roster. They have lost two top scoring forwards, Nathan Rempel and Craig Peacock, but have brought in another hotshot, Jason Cassells along with Tom Carlon. Defenceman James Hutchinson has also moved on with Alex Symonds coming in as a replacement.
The Scimitars v Peterborough games have always been great value for money and will certainly have the same fast tempo of previous seasons.
