News Article | 30th September 2009 » Battle for League points v Manchester on Saturday
The Sheffield Scimitars do battle with Manchester Phoenix again on Saturday (26th Sept.) 7.30pm, this time for crucial League points. This is billed as another fast-paced and physical game as both sides will be determined to make it 3 wins out of 3.
Both teams got off to flying starts achieving maximum points in the opening weekend and are tying at the top of the League.
The Scimitars demonstrated that they could hold their own with last season's triple champions, Peterborough and then away in Romford, while Manchester and Ed Courtenay had a goal fest against fellow ex-Elite Basingstoke before a close win against Swindon at home, adding fuel to some pre-season's predictions of a table-topping team.
Ed Courtenay, partnering Tony Hand, will be a huge additional factor to spice up the game this Saturday though after the pre-season War of the Roses Cup, both teams will have a good idea of the opposition.
Great value tickets are available at iceSheffield:
