John Head Coach's new-look Scimitars team will face Hull Stingrays when the Elite League's visit iceSheffield on 26th August.

Scims Operations Director, Ian Johnson, has today confirmed that the Sheffield Scimitars will face Elite League opposition for the first time in a mid-week clash at Ice Sheffield on Wednesday 26th August 2009, face-off at 7:30pm.

Johnson said, "Here we go! I'm really excited at the prospect of hosting a game against Elite League opponents. It will be a very good test for our new team, that's for sure".

The Stingrays, who next season will be coached by former Coventry Blaze star forward Sylvain Cloutier, will be visiting Sheffield as part of their own pre-season campaign in readiness for the Elite League face-off early in September. This will be a good opportunity for both teams to test themselves for speed and fitness ahead of what will be gruelling seasons for both teams.

With the Scimitars pre-season training commencing on Tuesday, the fixture with the Stingrays will give Scims Head Coach great target to aim for, he said, "This is a brilliant fixture for us and I am delighted that Clouts has agreed to bring his team over to Sheffield. I am hoping that both teams will be at full strength for the game and it should be a good night to warm-up both sets of fans for the upcoming season".

Tickets for the game at ice Sheffield will go on sale on 15th August priced at:
£6.00 for Adults, £4.00 for Concessions (U16's, students, the disabled & over 60's) , £15 Family (2+2) ticket.
