Scimitars EPL take on the British Armed Forces and a Shirt Launch too!
A combined Army, Navy and Air Force team will visit iceSheffield on Saturday 15th August to face off at 7pm against the EPL Scimitars on the day that the Club's new look will be unveiled at 6.15pm.
With our "Boys" fighting for democracy abroad the Sheffield Scimitars have agreed to host a game against a combined Armed Forces Team at Ice Sheffield which will see the Scimitars in action for the first time in competition this coming season.
It will be a big day for everyone connected with the new Scimitars organisation as it will be the day that the re-branded home and away shirts will be officially launched prior to the game. However, the team will not be wearing the new shirts on Saturday as a commitment has been made to wait until the first League game of the season. Until then the team will be wearing their newly designed warm-up shirt.
The Armed Forces have a very strong tradition of sporting competition in their histories and the British Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force have always produced teams across all sports that are strong, exceptionally fit and highly competitive. Whilst they might not be at Elite League standard, they have players who can play and who will relish the chance to pit their skills against the best that Sheffield has to offer.
There will be no entry charge (due to the late confirmation of this game taking place) but there will be a bucket collection for the Master Cutler's Challenge which is in aid of the Sheffield Children's Hospital.
Sheffield Scimitars' Season Ticket application forms will also be available for those wishing to book their seat for next season and which allows them to take advantage of the extra benefits that a season ticket offers.
The Supporter's Club will be attending and will have membership application forms available, plus taking names of anyone who is interested in putting their names down for the early away games. If you are not able to get down on Saturday, the Supporter's Club details are on the main website with contact details.
The Club look forward to seeing all who are able to make it down to the game and apologise for the late notice, due to reasons outside the Club's control.
