The latest Scims signing is fit and raring to go!
The latest signing for the Sheffield Scimitars 2009/10 team is announced today with the news that 24 year old Stephen Wallace has agreed to the offer of a second year term of his two season contract. After a constructive meeting between Wallace and Scims Head Coach, Wallace confirmed that he is happy to return for the coming season and agreed to sign on again.
Stephen Wallace is a player with years of experience at the EPL level and knows the league and players inside out. His knowledge and experience will bode well for the Scimitars team during the 2009/2010 season and Head Coach is delighted to have another top quality player on the roster and said, "Wallace has been working extremely hard in the gym over the summer months in preparation for the start of the season and during our recent meeting he explained about his training regime, which impressed me and gave me confidence knowing that Wally means business".
As with all of the players before, Head Coach went to great lengths to discuss last season with Wallace and there was some great feedback in relation to the team and personal performances. Head Coach was quick to provide his comments to Wallace who said, "Coach helped me fully understand which areas of my game need developing further so that I can contribute to a fully cohesive playing unit as well as my individual player development requirements. It was a really good briefing and I was really inspired by what Coach had to say".
Wallace is sure to be a great addition to the Scims team. Head Coach says that Wallace is "a guaranteed points accumulator, he put-up 43 points in 47 games last term which was a good contribution to the total scimitars points tally last season. He has tremendous awareness which should see him create many offensive opportunities and he is great on the puck with an excellent quick release killer shot."
Head Coach has watched Wallace in many games played last season and was very impressed by some of the individual plays and how he generated shots on net from difficult positions, many resulting in the red light. He added, "My aim is to give Wally the support and confidence he needs to be able to generate a top performance on a consistent basis game in game out. I think this is a very realistic objective for Wally and so during pre season I will work hard with him and the Scimitars roster to develop the defensive game concepts further, to generate players who have many tools in their toolboxes."
