Local property and construction company is the first new business partner for the Sheffield Scimitars for season 2009/10.

The Sheffield Scimitars are delighted to announce that Javelin Limited have agreed to become an Associate Sponsor for the EPL Team for Season 2009/10. Speaking today Scimitars' Director, Gary Apsley, said "This is a big day for the Club as it is demonstrating that we are able to bring new businesses to support our on-ice activities, which is news I know has been eagerly anticipated by our supporters. I am thrilled that we have been able to secure the support of Javelin who will provide much needed financial assistance, as well as opening up a new joint marketing opportunity for our respective organizations."

Javelin Limited is owned by Clowne-based entrepreneur, Alwynn Morris who said "I've known Gary and Ian for ages and when they called and explained their plans for the Scimitars I decided to get involved. Having been on the fringes of ice hockey for the past ten years or so I know what goes on. Now I'm going to be helping out at a business level, that is really exciting for me, and I can't wait for the season to start."

Apsley added, "We recently displayed a mock-up of the Team Shirt proposed for the new season. It received a warm reception and has the Javelin brand taking a prominent position on the shirt. The brand new look of the Scims hockey uniform is all part of the revival plan we are implementing."

Javelin is a new Company started by Morris a few months ago and part of the deal with the Scimitars will see a two-way support arrangement, which will benefit both operations, Mr. Morris said "As in most businesses, there are many issues to be overcome and I believe that together Javelin and the Scimitars can support one another and I am really looking forward to working alongside Gary, Ian and the rest of the Club."

As the new Finance Director, Mr. Apsley is working hard to secure more support for the Scimitars and hopes to make further announcements over the next few weeks.
