News Article | 11th March 2009 » Master Cutler's Challenge for The Children's Hospital - Can you help?

The Copthorne Sheffield Scimitars are proud to announce that they have taken up the Master Cutler's Challenge to help raise money for The Children's Hospital during this summer.

Because the Children's Hospital provide such an excellent service for the children of Sheffield and surrounding districts and is also the Scimitars' main Charity this season it was felt that we would like to contribute further.

Already this season the Club has raised, and handed over, a total of £1,224.91 from a special edition Shirt Auction and two bucket collections at games.

This money from the Scimitars is going towards the project to provide Patient Interactive Systems to each bed (costing £3000 each). The Hospital has already fitted out 7 wards and are currently rolling them out to the remaining wards.

Representatives from the Scimitars attended the launch of the 2009 Challenge at the Cutler's Hall recently and received a £50 cheque which is to invest into innovative ways to raise as much money as is possible for the Children's Hospital.

The money raised will be invested in the following 4 areas:
Medical Research, Medical Equipment, New Facilites and Improving the Hospital Environment.

There will be a Gala Dinner at the Cutler's Hall on Friday, 25th September to present the various awards.

The Club invites the fans and the team to think about ways in which we raise money for this very worthwhile cause either in individual endeavours or as a team/club.
