PREVIEW

SUNDAY SAVER NIGHT SPECIAL as the Scimitars aim to repel two sets of Raiders.

The Sheffield Scimitars have two games at iceSheffield this weekend in Premier League action and will be targeting not only the 4 points with their home-ice advantage, but also increasing crowd numbers still further after a season-high last weekend.

Romford Raiders are the first to arrive in Sheffield, on Saturday 14th Feb. with the face-off at 7.30pm and tickets at the usual attractive family prices. This is followed by Wightlink Raiders on Sunday 15th at 5.30pm, which is a fantastic value £5 - £1 SAVER NIGHT with ticket prices just £5 for adults and £1 for all concessions (U16's, students, over 60's & the disabled).

Head Coach, Ron Shudra stated that 'Although Romford currently lie in 7th position, they are fighting their way up the table to a Play-Off spot under their recently appointed new Head Coach, Jesse Hammill. They have also strengthened their squad and raised their morale by winning 8 out of the last 10 games played under his direction, so we will have to come out really sharp and concentrate for the full 60 minutes'.

A tough, exciting game is in prospect with no love lost on Valentine's Day as both teams battle it out for the two points. Ex-Scimitar and top Raiders' points scorer, Mark Stewart, will be back to prove another point, or more, along with 6'4 Jan Krajicek patrolling the blue line.

On Sunday's £5 - £1 SAVER NIGHT at 5.30pm, the Scimitars face another raiding party when Wightlink Raiders make the long journey north.

Shudra added 'Both sets of Raiders are capable of scoring plenty of goals and while Wightlink may be bottom of the league, they are a difficult team to play against, as high flying Guildford Flames have found to their cost this season'.

On IOW's last visit, the Scimitars had to fight back from a 2 goal deficit after the first period before winning 7-3, and will need to be on their mettle on Sunday to contain the Raiders' sharp shooters, Adam Brittle and Joel Petkoff.
