News Article | 2nd January 2009 » Scimitars' New Year Signing
The Scimitars are very pleased to announce a newly signed young forward who will ice for the first time at home on Sunday 4th January.
Iain Bowie is joining the team direct from the Elite League Edinburgh Capitals for whom he has played since the 06/07 season, and who wants to play for the Scimitars.
Head Coach, Ron Shudra says about the Scimitars' latest signing " He is a determined, hard-working GB U20's member who has been playing with the Capitals in the Elite League for the last three seasons.
He has done extremely well there for a young player and will hopefully bring some energy and grit to our line-up. He has demonstrated at GB level to be an accomplished scorer and we hope he can settle in and continue scoring with us".
Iain will ice one game with the Scimitars on Sunday before he heads off with the GB U20's team to Lugrono in Spain, along with Scimitars' Robert Farmer, plus netminder Ben Bowns, before he returns to Sheffield for the rest of the season.
The Scimitars would like to wish all their fans and sponsors a Happy New Year and thank them for all their support so far this season.
