and rising?!

The Scimitars moved up to 6th place in the EPL table after 4 consecutive home wins and 21 goals scored, before a clash this Sunday with Telford Tigers who lie just one point below.

The Scimitars have improved their home record considerably during December and aim to keep this trend going, especially with another four home games still to come in January.

In this season's competitive league, just 16 points separate the teams currently lying in the top eight, so there is still all to play for to rise higher still.

Joakim Millqvist has settled in well with the team now, earning himself several MOM awards and, since Peter Slamiar returned to the ice following injury, they have been combining well to increase the scoring.

At the beginning of the season the team were scoring the fewest goals but joined Bracknell in conceding the least, they have now moved up to 7th in goals-for and tied 5th with Guildford in goals-against.

The Scimitars play their only game of the weekend at iceSheffield this Sunday, 11th January, face-off at 5.30pm against the Telford Tigers, with ex-Sheffield and Steelers' Davey Lawrence between the pipes for the Tigers.

The Scimitars overtook Telford for the first time since October after last weekend's games so an always feisty encounter between these two teams will be even more intense on Sunday.

The Scimitars need to be on their mettle as they face two of the top points scorers in the league as well as the team with the highest number of penalty minutes.

Tickets are available by phoning 0800 138 8544 (24hrs, landline calls free), by booking online - www.sheffieldscimitars.co.uk or from iceSheffield reception.
