News Article | 10th December 2008 » SANTA SCIMITARS SET FOR CHARITY FUNDRAISER

Copthorne Sheffield Scimitars have turned red for Christmas!
The Scimitars will be breaking with tradition by wearing a unique 'Santa style' strip for this weekend's home games against Bracknell Bees (December 13), face-off 7:30pm, and the Wightlink Raiders (December 14), face-off 5.30pm.
Following the game against Wightlink, the red, white and black shirt, is being auctioned off to supporters with proceeds going to the Sheffield Children's Hospital charity.
The Scimitars are hoping for another bumper crowd against Wightlink, face-off 5:30pm, after the club introduced a new price busting ticket offer. Fans will receive two free children tickets to the match with every full paying adult.
More than 600 fans packed into iceSheffield when the club provided a price reduction on tickets at games last month.
Martin Birch, chairman of Sheffield Scimitars, said: "The crowds have been fantastic since we introduced the ticket offers and we expect another high crowd at iceSheffield this weekend.
"We thought the red strip would be completely different from our normal blue and white shirt. I'm sure it will be a massive hit with supporters, while providing a Christmas touch to the game. Hopefully we will be able to raise a decent amount of money for what is a very good cause."
Normal prices apply for the Bracknell game at iceSheffield, which include the family package at £15 (one adult and two U16's) and the family ticket at £20.00 (two adults and two U16s).
Individual adults tickets for all Scimitars games are available at £8.50, concessions at £5 and Under 16s are £3.50 by contacting 0800 138 8544, online www.sheffieldscimitars.co.uk and from the iceSheffield reception.
For on the day purchases the club advises fans to arrive one hour before face-off to avoid disappointment.
Group bookings of eight people or more for businesses, schools and youth groups are also welcome. For more information telephone Hilary Jones on 07766 766560 or email contact@sheffieldscimitars.co.uk
All tickets and offers are subject to availability.
