The Sheffield Scimitars have the first of only two October home games this Sunday 5.10.08 at iceSheffield (5.30pm) and face Milton Keynes Lightning in a quick return leg.

Last weekend the Scimitars won a hard fought game in Milton Keynes against a team that caused them problems last season. This weekend's game is likely to be equally tough as Milton Keynes try to kick start their season and the Scimitars strive to maintain last weekends' successful momentum.

The Scimitars will hope to be at full strength after missing Stephen Wallace for the Saturday game, which will also enable to Ron Shudra to settle his lines down. Milton Keynes have strengthened defensively this year as well as having some good firepower up front so the Scimitars will have to be ready for them from the start.

Coach Ron Shudra had to have strong words with the team after the first periods at the weekend but felt 'they responded well in both games having excellent 2nd periods' and feels confidence is growing with each passing game. He had particular praise for the Farmer, Gibson and Brittle line 'who were a handful both evenings'.

The Scimitars are away in Telford on Saturday in a reverse of last weekend's teams and venues, giving them another test of character as a team. Last week's good win saw the Scimitars score four goals and Mark Lee record a shut-out in his first game with his new team. The Scimitars will look to continue their winning record at Telford.
