The Sheffield Scimitars are very pleased to announce their two netminders in the latest signings.

Scimitars' Chairman, Martin Birch commented "It's great to see Ron staying with our local talent between the posts in Paul Jones and Mark Lee. Paul proved he had all that it takes last season when eventually he got his chance after the injury to Pasi. Now he can go on and continue to grow into one of the best netminders in the league.

Mark Lee will ensure that Paul does exactly that because he too already qualifies as one of the league's best netminders and he is not going to want to just to sit on the bench.

Well engineered Ron, as you have two great players battling it out every week, just like all the other positions in the team".

Ron Shudra said "We are extremely happy to have probably the strongest British netminding tandem in the EPL.

Paul Jones and Mark Lee have both excelled in their time in the EPL. Paul has been with the Scimitars from their beginning in the EPL and last year showed he is more than capable of playing at this level consistently.

He was thrown into playing the last half of our season last year and did a great job getting us to Coventry for our Finals weekend".

"Mark comes to us via Romford after a short stint in North America. He has previously played for Newcastle in the Elite league and also has the ability to play at EPL level.

He had some great outings for Romford last season especially against the top teams so we are delighted to have two experienced and capable netminders playing for us".

Paul Jones has come up through the Sheffield Junior system and was starting goalie for the Scimitars in their Grand Slam Championship year at ENL before moving up with the Scimitars into the EPL. He backed-up the top netminder, Pasi Raitanen, for three years though had to step up to starter when Pasi sustained a season-ending injury in January.

Mark Lee began his career in Sunderland before moving to Newcastle. He signed as back-up goalie for the Elite Newcastle Vipers the in 04-05 season, and excelled in the games played whilst standing in for the injured starter. After a summer signing for Romford, Mark began last season in America before returning to England and Romford in December, where he was a big influence in helping the team make play-offs.
