News Article | 10th March 2008 » Home double-header weekend v Wightlink Raiders

The Scimitars would like to confirm that unfortunately Pad 1 is not available for the final two games of the regular season this weekend against the Wightlink Raiders, due to another event being booked after our fixtures were confirmed.

A total of 11 venues in Sheffield are being used to host 20 sports over the week, and so again we would like to aplogise for any inconvenience as this move to Pad 2 is outside the Club's control.

The ice surface is the same size, but unfortunately the available seating is much more limited. We would like to apologise to all our fans for the inconvenience, especially as this is a double-header.

Seating will be reserved for season ticket holders and sponsors and there are some spaces for wheelchair users on the top level. There are also some seats at ice-level near the cafe. Allocation of the remaining seats will be on a 'first come, first served' basis, but please ask at the Scimitars' desk near the reception desk if there are any specific needs or problems.
Or email - contact@sheffieldscimitars.co.uk

Standing around the rink will be allowed, so maybe all those who would prefer to stand in Pad 1, will enjoy being allowed to do it legitimately! It used to generate a lot of atmosphere down at Queens Road.

We are unfortunately unable to reduce our ticket prices, (they are already lower than at any other EPL team), as our game and ice costs are the same as for Pad 1, and our gate will inevitably be reduced because of the switch.

The merchandise desk will be located at the Skate Hire desk and drinks will be allowed down from the bar. The end-of-season Shirt Auction will be on-going over the weekend too.

Please help to make it an enjoyable weekend, the last in the regular season, and especially for any IOW fans who have made the long journey up to Sheffield.
