Scimitars for Team GB

Congratulations to the Scimitars' players, Ben Morgan and Robert Dowd on their call-up to Paul Thompson's Team GB for the Euro Challenge Mont Blanc Tournament in France this week (w/c 4.2.08).

The 33 man squad travelled out to France yesterday (Mon) and will play in 2 of the 3 games so that the whole squad can be assessed by the Head Coach Paul Thompson, who is delighted that he will be able to get more time to work with his players ahead of April's World Championships in Austria.

Other Sheffield-trained and ex-Scimitar players Greg Wood (Basingstoke) and James Archer (Coventry Blaze) have also been called up.

GB will open the tournament against Lithuania tomorrow (5th February) at 8.30pm local time, in Morzine. They take on Norway at 8.30pm on Wednesday 6th in Courchevel and then France at 8.30pm on Thursday 7th in Meribel.

The team flies home on Friday 8th February in time for their Club's weekend's games.
