News Article | 9th January 2008 » Release of Ryan Johnson
It is with real regret that the Sheffield Scimitars have to announce that Ryan Johnson has requested his release from the Sheffield Scimitars EPL team following last weekend's two match suspension for disciplinary reasons.
He has elected to transfer to the Scimitars ENL squad with immediate effect.
Ryan has been with the team since it was re-vamped under Richard Clegg and was part of the close-knit Grand Slam team. He has worked hard to come back from a serious knee injury and surgery, sustained in the team's first year in the EPL, but is looking to get more ice time with the ENL Scimitars. All at the Scimitars wish him well in the future.
Ryan will be missed in the dressing room where he was always upbeat and positive and on the ice he always gave 100%. He will be an asset to the ENL Scimitars where he will gain more ice-time.
The Scimitars would like to also thank Edna for all her hard work and enthusiasm in putting together a very successful 'Fun Bus' which has really raised the level of away support for the team this year. This has been greatly appreciated by the players and the management and her organisation of away travel will be sadly missed.
With respect to Edna, it would good if all her hard groundwork in this area could be continued, if there are any volunteers who would prepared to take the job on.
