The Scimitars had mixed fortunes last weekend with their loss against Milton Keynes on Saturday 5 - 4 with the winner going in with seconds to spare. But Scimitars got back in their stride for a good win again over the Telford tigers.

Coach Neil Abel was in reflective mood today and said of the outings "On Saturday we never played to our best and the defencemen were poor we also had too many stupid goals. We were guilty of not moving the puck around as we have in recent games and we were shut down in the defence zone. Moving the puck is vital to our game but we also need to get a bit more physical with these teams and stand up to them. However even taken all of this into account I thought we should have won the game or at the least tied it."

The Scimitars will be facing the Milton Keynes Lightning again this Sunday, but this time it is at home (face off 17.30). Milton Keynes had a four point weekend last week something that the Scimitars will be keen to spoil this week, especially as every point counts over y the long road to the cup at the end of the season.

Sunday's affair was very different, Scimitars cam out victors against basement club Telford Tigers. There were lots of goals and Coach Neil Abel said "It was a better performance; the defencemen moved the puck up to the forwards which gave us a chance to counter attack more than the previous night. Jonesy played well especially after he has not seen too much ice time. He definitely proved that he can play in this league and did a good job.

Speaking of the penalties that were picked up, especially Slamiar's game misconduct, he said "It is frustrating for some players who have not played here before and they are not used to the low tolerance rules, but they will get used to it. Slamiar picked up a ten misconduct for incitement towards an opposition player whilst sat in the penalty box, then was awarded a further ten misconduct for climbing up the plexi glass to discuss this, that gave him the automatic game misconduct and saw him leave for an early shower."

Saturday see the team travel down to face the Swindon Wildcats (face off 17.30) a team that the Scimitars have had success over already this season. But they will be taking no chances with them and will want to come out the victors from this affair.

Tickets are on sale now from iceSheffield for this Sunday's game against Milton Keynes, which looks to be a great encounter between the two sides.
