Scimitars coach Neil Abel has finally secured the services of the player that he has been after for the last couple of months. Left handed Peter Slamiar has been the target of Abel, to fill a role which is fundamental in trying to meet next season's ambitions. He is a quality signing who has an impressive C.V. He was drafted by the NY Rangers in 1995, 6th #143r. and is a six foot two forward.

Coach Abel said "I am very glad he has decided to come to Sheffield it is not every day you get a chance to sign somebody that has been a draft pick for the NHL. Hopefully he will bring more stability to our club and help us win some silverware this coming season. I am in the process of trying to get someone in an offensive role to compliment Peter. It is important that they can play together and that they suit each others game. As soon as I have the final piece in the jigsaw completed I will let you know who it is."

The Scimitars have been so close in recent seasons to winning titles it is now hoped that this impressive signing will add that extra missing ingredient. Other clubs have been quick to sign up players, but Neil has chosen to take his time and make sure that the player is right for his still developing EPL team.

Peter said from his home "I am looking forward to playing for Sheffield. I have never played in England before so I am very excited I am convinced that I have made a good decision. I am sure that all sides, players, coaches, the team owner and of course the fans will be satisfied at the end of the season."
