The Sheffield Scimitars are pleased to be able to confirm that some of their steadfast players are set to return. Simon Butterworth, Ryan Johnson, James Goodman and Pasi Raitanen will once again be flying the Scimitars colours.

Coach Neil Abel said "Goody has been a stalwart in the team for many a season and I am glad he has signed for another year. Jonno had his injuries last year so hopefully he can finally get over his operation that he previously had on his knee and get himself a regular spot on the ice. Butter's played a very important part in the team last season and I hope he will do the same again. I am glad Pasi has decided to play with us for another season as he was probably one of the best players on the ice. So hopefully he will once again come up with the goods this season and the Scimitars will be in safe hands once more."

So the Scimitars will be icing the majority of their 06/07 players and hope to go that extra yard and pick up a trophy. Ryan said upon his signing "I am pleased to be back with the lads, we should be in with a shout for the league, and I am personally looking forward to having a good season." James said "I am really happy to be signing, we have a great club and rink and I would not play anywhere else. I have personal aspirations to win the league but Slough and Guildford are shaping up well." We will give it our best shot.

Pasi was quoted as saying "I am happy to be back, I have had great times over the past two seasons with the Scimitars especially with the great bunch of guys that are here. They show so much promise and are the core of the team." Pasi will also be having a Testimonial year next season and it is anticipated that there will be a game sometime in February.
