Sheffield Scimitars are now in receipt of a further two players contracts. They are 24 year old forward Stuart Brittle and 21 year old netminder Paul Jones.

Coach Neil Abel said upon these contract completions "I am hoping that both of them along with Carl Ashton are able to start the new season with a brighter frame of mind. All of them suffered last year because of injuries which at times spoilt their individual games. We will have a stronger team with them back to their true self's and the injuries healed. All of them can expect a better year and more points and ice time as a result. Particularly in the case of Jonesy, who did the job for us when we asked."

Brittle, speaking at his home today said "I am now in my fourth year with Sheffield, although I originate from Telford. I started well last season but picked up a bad shoulder injury early on which meant I did not come back until Christmas. I did not play as well from then onwards as I did before the damage was done. But I am going to up my game to the level I started with last year. We will miss the guys who have left the club but there is still plenty of time to make some good signings. Although we had some good import forwards last year they did not really play that long together. We made a brilliant start and definitely had the team to win the league and were very unlucky not to do so. We will all have to work really hard to emulate the same success. My personal goal for the future is to come back in two season's time when I am announced onto the ice as Dr Stuart Brittle, which will be when I have completed my PHD in Nanomaterial engineering."

Paul Jones - "Jonesy" said from his Rotherham home "I am once again really looking forward to lining up in a Scimitars uniform. I started my career in the U14's B and have played in Sheffield ever since that time. For the majority it will be the same guys and I hope we can at least match last year's successes and go on to even better that. I am currently making sure that I am fully fit for the new season and I am not rushing anything just now and getting my strength up in the gym. We have signed Stephen Wallace who will be a good addition and I look forward to seeing what he brings to our group of lads. I plan to develop and build on my existing relationships with the team, and I look forward to helping the team achieve the same progress made as in the last two seasons."
