Sheffield Scimitars young discovery last season is all set to return to Ice Sheffield. Young defencemen Lloyd Gibson will be icing next year for the EPL team. He proved to be a great hit with both team members and supporters alike last year and many had feared that he would be picked up by other clubs. He gained more and more ice time and benefited by playing with more senior players in the team. Every one connected with the Club is delighted by his return.

Coach Neil Abel said "Lloyd has come on leaps and bounds this season playing with the likes of Dowd. He is a hard worker and is always first in the corners and will do what you ask him to do next season will be a big year for him and he will continue to learn his craft. We knew others would try and tempt him away; I am glad that he has chosen to stay in Sheffield."

Lloyd is also upbeat about his decision to return, he said "Sheffield is the right place for me, the league is competitive and it is amazing what we have already done. However we will need to improve and I hope I can assist and help the team in any way possible. I have played my entire hockey career in Sheffield and it is a big thing for me to play on a senior team in my city. I was approached by several other clubs but there was only going to be one place that I would play and that was Sheffield. Last season we did better than anyone expected, and at times we did not play to our full potential, but real progress was made. I know a couple of team mates have moved on and I wish them well, but I am also excited at being able to play with new players. This will help my game, and help develop the team."
