Former G.B. and ex-Steeler defencemen Steve Duncombe has put pen to paper and has signed up for another season in a Scimitars uniform. The solid D man has decided that iceSheffield and his team of last season still has places to go and he can help with their quest for consistency and winning games. Scimitars are in the process of building their new look team for the 07/08 season, but there are several key faces from second placed squad set to return.

Coach Neil Abel said of Duncombe "He was the best defencemen last year and obviously I was going to try and keep him. We knew for sure that other teams wanted him, including Milton Keynes and the Isle of Wight. But we wanted him back in a Scimitars uniform; he would be a hard player to replace. Last season he had another growth year and has taken on board many new objectives for next year. I am sure all connected with the club are glad he's back with us. We want to go out and finish what we tried to do this year, but ended up in second spot."

Duncombe had no hesitation in signing up again and is looking forward to playing with the South Yorkshire set up. Scimitars have astounded those in the hockey world by progressing so fast in the English Premier League.
