The Sheffield Scimitars have concluded the signing of another returnee. Carl Ashton has confirmed today that he will once again be wearing a Scimitars shirt next season. Carl, who has suffered from injuries over the last couple of seasons and is now fighting fit and ready to go.
He said "Sheffield is my home and I would not wish to play anywhere else. I am really looking forward to the new season. The last couple of years have been hard, but I needed time for my injuries to heal, but I am really looking forward to getting out there again. We will have some new players in and I think it will turn out to be another good year for us. It will be interesting to see how every one gels. We have always had a good locker room but now it will have some new faces in it and that is fine with me."
Carl is yet another example of the excellent programme of hockey available in Sheffield. He has played for the club right from his first steps onto the ice as an under 10's player. Coach Neil Abel said "I am pleased that Carl is ready to go, its always tough for a player whilst recovering from injury but he is out there skating and getting his fitness up. He is a local boy and I am glad that he can once again be found on a Scimitars roster."
