The Sheffield Scimitars have been swift and have re-signed G.B. player Ben Morgan for their 07/08 squad. Morgan who was a key part in the Scimitars swift rise in the EPL was tipped as being one of the most offensive defencemen in any of the other teams. He was offered other opportunities, including Elite teams, but has elected to stay with the Scimitars. He traveled with the G.B. Under 20s team to Italy and proved that he could be successful on the international circuit helping G.B. earn a bronze medal. Neil Abel said "Ben is a very steady and reliable defencemen, he would be very hard to replace. He also proved to be a very able assistant captain we knew other clubs were interested in him including Slough who tried to lure him away. Ben is and will be a very important element in the team over the next couple of seasons and I wanted to make sure he knew his future was in Sheffield."

Ben, who is a local lad, has played his entire hockey in Sheffield. He is excited to be back with the Scimitars and said "Hopefully Sheffield can reach number one next year and I am thrilled to be back. There is a solid unit of lads here and I enjoy playing with them. The fan base is building and I want to go on and have another good year. I would like to thank all of those in the club who have been quick to get my future confirmed for the 07/08 season."
