Sheffield Scimitars are pleased to confirm the pieces of their squad for the forthcoming season. They are Mark Stewart, a Canadian from Ottawa and Robert Dowd.

Mark, 25, last played for HYC Herentals in the Belgium Premier League. Upon signing for the Scimitars he said "I am really excited to be joining the Sheffield Scimitars and look forward to helping the team win a title." Coach Abel had to swing into action upon finding that a previously signed import player did not have the correct paperwork to allow him to play in the EPL. But he now feels that he has a better man Abel said "Mark comes highly recommended and I am looking forward to linking him up with the other guys to boost our offensive capabilities. I feel that his game will be very well suited to the new rules being used this year."

Rob Dowd originally from the North East last played his hockey for the Florida Everglades, in the major AAA league comes to Sheffield after recently competing for Great Britain under 18 European where he achieved the accolade of being the top point's scorer. Upon signing rob said "I am looking forward to the season ahead, and I have good ambitions for my stay with the Scimitars. I am happy with my line mates because I am already used to them" Coach Abel is very happy that Rob decided to sign for the Scimitars"we have been talking with Rob for a while now and I feel that he can have a long and successful career with the Scimitars."
