On Saturday, Scimitars face Swindon Wildcats for the 4th time this season and with a 2-1 record. Both teams needed the points so it was likely to be a tight game.

It did not seem to augur well for Sheffield when Swindon raced into the lead just 29 seconds from face-off by Aaron Nell and then doubled their lead with a second goal by Taylor just over 5 minutes later. Scimitars fought back through Tom Squires who pulled one goal back at 7.36 after slotting the puck through the legs of Swindon's new netminder, Chris Douglas. Stuart Brittle levelled the score at 2-2 at 8.47 much to the relief of all. However, Nell had other ideas and put Swindon back ahead at 17.56. Scimitars missed some good scoring opportunities but Nell gave Swindon the boost of a two goal lead when he netted his hat trick which just scraped under the bar before the buzzer at 19.59.

A 0-0 second period with some fast end to end hockey and with Scimitars edging the offensive strikes. Cassells was given a 10 minute illegal equipment penalty at 25.44 but Nell kept the pressure up on Ben Bowns.

Scimitars increased the pressure in the third, Matt Haywood pulling a goal back on the PP at 41.30 followed by Simon Butterworth drilling in the equaliser at 46.33. Neither team could break the deadlock for the remainder of regulation or overtime, despite Scimitars having a PP opportunity as Nell was given a 2 minute high sticking penalty at 63.44. A penalty shoot-out followed with Slamiar and Archer scoring to Swindon's one strike by Kohut, giving the home team a deserved two points. Peter Slamiar was MOM.
