It was a long journey down for Sheffield Scimitars to face the Bees on Sunday following their gutting OT loss at home on Saturday to Peterborough, but they fared little better in Bracknell, losing by 3-1.

The first period started with the teams fairly evenly matched though with Bracknell the better team for finishing in front of the net. Scimitars could not take advantage of an early powerplay and Bracknell were first on the board as Jaroslav Cesky collected a pass from Michal Pinc to slot the puck home on the far side at 07.15. Bracknell's 2nd goal came on a delayed penalty at 18.22 scored by Carl Graham for a 2-0 end to the period.

Scimitars came out more determined in the second, with some extra shots on Ambler in goal. Cesky and Pinc also had a good chance on a breakaway but the shot was blocked well by Ben Bowns. Sheffield's only goal of the game came just 16 seconds into a powerplay, scored by Tom Squires at 29.26, assisted Mark Stewart and James Archer. Bracknell restored their two goal lead at 34.05 via Cesky and Pinc passing across the net face.

The third period was scoreless as Bowns denied offensive strikes, particularly by Cesky, and was penalty-free though play was getting niggly between some players. Sheffield increased the pace during the period, creating some chances but were unable to finish off the attempts and Bracknell collected the much needed two points to keep themselves above Swindon and hold onto the 8th play-off position. Matt Haywood was MOM for the 2nd night running.
