On Saturday Scimitars travelled down to Basingstoke for the fourth contest having only dropped one point along the way, but this time they came away with a 5-1 loss. Chris Sykes and Andrew Hirst were missing from this game but otherwise they were at full strength.
Bison came out strong in the first period, were well organised and dangerous offensively all game with the first line of Moria, Chinn, and Lauko getting to the net on every shift. However Ben Bowns kept Bison at bay until Lauko scored at 16.06 aided by Steve Moria and Nicky Chinn and the first period ended 1-0.
Despite working hard for the full three periods and creating some chances, Scimitars were unable to create too many chances The only goal of the second period was by Steve Moria at 37.16 with Chinn and Lauko assisting.
Ondrej Lauko continued to demonstrate some clinical finishing in in the remaining three goals aided by Chinn and Moria and Kieras at 42.55, 52.35 and finally at 54.22. Mark Stewart scored the Scimitars consolation goal at 49.42 assisted by Matt Haywood and Peter Slamiar. Ben Bowns (MOM) kept the scoreline down with some excellent saves out of the 44 shots put on goal and with the team working hard for the full 60 minutes, Basingstoke were not allowed to relax.
