On Saturday the Scimitars travelled down to face Slough Jets for their 3rd encounter, Sheffield having claimed maximum points in the previous two matches (though with one an OTW) but in this game the Scimitars did not make the same impact.

The first period was fairly even in play and shots on goal but Slough claimed the advantage with a short-handed goal at 12.18 scored by Ciaran Long.

Slough picked up the pace in the second period and were able to put 24 shots on Ben Bowns to the Scimitars 14 on Rockman. The Jets began putting the game beyond the Scimitars reach at 26.42 when Dan Davies doubled the lead. Sheffield were unable to capitalise on the powerplay shortly after and once Slough were back to full strength, Slava Koulikov scored at 31.52 for a 3-0 lead. Their 4th goal hit the back of the net at 36.24, scored by Michael Bowman to go into the 2nd period break 4-0 up.

Following a strong team talk and with a mountain to climb, the Scimitars came out in more determined mood but it started badly for them as captain Peter Slamiar crashed to the ice after he was hooked down and was unable to take any further part in the game. Sheffield broke Rockman's shutout when they scored a consolation goal at 44.34 by MOM Mark Stewart but were unable to close the gap further, ending the game 4-1.

A disappointing and lacklustre performance by a normally hard-working team and a tough challenge awaited them the following day at home against league-leaders Milton Keynes.
