A single point from two games for the Sheffield Scimitars from another disappointing weekend. Both teams had had tough games on Saturday, with injuries leading to shorter benches, tired players and a less intense match. The result allowed Peterborough to overtake Sheffield by one point in the League table.

The Scimitars were still missing Peter Slamiar, so down to one import, though James Archer and Lloyd Gibson managed to be back in the lineup. Despite Peterborough being the more dominant team in the first period it was the Scimitars' Tom Squires who pounced on the second rebound at 19.03 from shots on Wall by Mark Turner and then Simon Butterworth to go into the first period break 1-0 up.

Ben Bowns was called into action at the start of the 2nd period with Scimitars then killing a penalty before the Phantoms struck back with the equaliser just as the penalty expired, when James Morgan put a shot across the crease which went in off a defenceman's skate. Scimitars retook the lead at 27.16 via Lee Haywood after some good passing around the net. Morgan picked up his second of the night to equalise 2-2 at 35.17 followed two minutes later by Brent Gough crashing the net and flattening Bowns to give Phantoms a 3-2 lead into the third stanza. Bowns was the busier netminder in the 2nd period with 17 shots to 8 on Wall.

The Scimitars continued to fight for the equaliser but despite three power play opportunities it was Peterborough who gave themselves some breathing space with their 4th goal, a breakaway by James Spurr at 49.13. An accidental high sticks by Mark Stewart at 54.37 resulted in a 5 plus match penalty which the Scimitars managed to kill off and with no further scoring, the game ended as a 2-4 win for the opposition. MOM went to Stuart Brittle.
