On Saturday Captain Peter Slamiar returned to the line-up from injury and the three young players who have stepped up in recent games were presented with their named shirt at the end of the warm-up.

Scimitars, with just two imports, started the game well with some good possession and chances on net, which in turn caused some roughing after Ambler came out of net and checked Slamiar, who was then hammered by Kaminskas. Kaminskas received 2+2 for roughing and Slamiar 2 mins for interference.That incident seemed to set the tone for Bracknell's increased physical play with elbows and late hits. However, Bracknell were first on the scoreboard at 11.08 with a goal by Pinc (assisted Cesky) just after Kaminskas came out of the penalty box. Pinc picked up a 10 minute misconduct at 17.10 after he tangled with Lee Haywood.

With Dumas sitting a minor penalty, James Archer one-timed a scorcher of a shot past Ambler to equalise at the start of the second period, 21.40, (assisted Haywood and M Haywood), but that was nullified less than three minutes later as Bracknell claimed their 2nd goal at 24.35, and kept the pressure on during the period.

Bracknell went up 3-1 on the powerplay at 46.49 by Watt but Slamiar was perfectly placed in front of net to hammer home the puck off a great pass out from behind the net by Mark Stewart to reduce the deficit and give the final score of 2-3. A fracas broke out in the dying seconds of the game resulting in 4 Scimitars in the box after Shane Moore and Slami had a fight, Archer was given a 10 minute misconduct and Duncombe a 10 minute for cross-checking from behind.

A disappointing result for the Scimitars and a fourth consecutive loss with in-form Peterborough the next opponents. Chris Wilcox was awarded MOM.
