On Saturday, Swindon stormed into a 3-0 lead at end of the 1st period as Sheffield were totally out-played.

With Peter Slamiar sitting out a hooking penalty, Richardson put Swindon on the scoreboard at 4.25 assisted by Cassells and Krajicek. Danilics took the 2nd at 9.17 with Nell claiming the 3rd at 14.50 for a 3-0 home lead.

However, Jon Rowbotham's team talk in the period break certainly galvanised the team as they came out flying at the start of the second. Swindon, together with its four imports capitulated after Scimitars fired in two quick goals at 21.50 and 22.13. Firstly there was an excellent goal scored by Slamiar and assisted by Mark Stewart and Lee Haywood. Robert Farmer claimed the 2nd goal at 22.13, assisted again by Haywood, for a 3-2 end to a hard-working 2nd period by the Scimitars.

Another quick double-strike on the powerplay at the beginning of the third sealed the game as Swindon's discipline started to slip. James Archer scored on a 5-on-3 at 42.35 with Slamiar getting his second strike of the night at 43.09. The Scimitars outshot the home team by 21-5 but it took till 58.30 to add an insurance goal scored by Lee Haywood, to ensure the two away points in a 3-5 win with Farmer being awarded MOM.
Another team performance of grit and perseverance aided by Swindon who had no answer in the face of the Scimitars' tenacity.
