A disappointing weekend for the Scimitars in a role reversal of the previous double point weekend against the same teams.

The game on Sunday against Milton Keynes was a repetition of the fast paced match between these two teams but this time it was Hollyhead in net who repelled the barrage of pucks to grab the win and earn himself a well-deserved MOM.

The Scimitars dominated the first period offensively, putting 17 shots on goal to no avail though Milton Keynes were able to escape the Scimitars defence for a couple of breakaways. The second one resulted in a goal against the run of play as Adam Carr scored at 12.03 after a charge down the ice. Michael Wales received a 10 minute misconduct penalty at 19.44. The period ended 0-1 with Hollyhead stopping several Scimitars players from getting on the board and in particular Peter Slamiar.

The second period was more even-handed with fast end to end play and some well-worked chances by Slamiar and Tait, also Wallace and Sikl on the Milton Keynes net in the first ten minutes. Milton Keynes had their chances too but were denied by Jones. Duncombe picked up a penalty at 39.54 in an attempt to prevent another Milton Keynes breakaway with the period ending still 0-1.

The third period started with the Scimitars killing off their penalty but with Milton Keynes squandering the chance when Randall was called for a roughing penalty at 41.53. Close range chances for Gibson, Farmer and Brittle were all stopped by Hollyhead. Clarke and Smulter were able to deke the Scimitars defence, despite an attempted block on the ice by Goodman, to score on the far post at 55.51 followed shortly after by a double pad save by Jones to prevent a further goal. A man advantage in the last 2 minutes was negated by a Scimitars' penalty off the face-off and the game ended 0-2.
Ryan Handisides was awarded the Scimitars MOM award.
