On Sunday, in the second of their away weekend's games, this time in Bracknell, the team were still in a good frame of mind and gave 100% from the initial drop of the puck. They stuck to the game plan they had been given and an early goal scored by the third line gave them the lift they needed. The unexpected goal came at 5.05 scored deflected in by Lloyd Gibson off a Robert Farmer shot towards goal, assisted also by Stuart Brittle and this line worked hard all over the ice all game long.

The pace was fast and end to end in the first period with much better passing, face-off wins and power plays for the Scimitars than during some recent games. A change in line order allowed a better match up of lines which worked well not only to reduce the number of good scoring chances Bracknell had, and which were all stopped by Jones, but also increased the Scimitars chances in front of net. It was also the best first period Sheffield have played for a while and finished 0-1.

Although the intensity dropped a little in the second there was plenty of hard skating and good defending to break up the inevitable breakaway attempts. Penalty killing was also solid from the goalie outwards to maintain the slender one goal lead to the end of the second period.

Both teams pressed hard for the win in the third, but neither could get past the respective netminders and play became feisty as Bracknell got frustrated. As they were pushing to claim an equaliser Slamiar was given a high sticks penalty with 2.38 mins to go, but the Bees then picked up a penalty for the last two minutes allowing the Scimitars to hold on to their 1-0 lead. Paul Jones was given the Scimitars MOM award for a well-earned shut out aided by a strong team effort and good defence.
