A tough double-headed road trip for the Scimitars against Romford and Guildford, with more injured players added to the list for this game, but with some great travelling support.

On Saturday in Romford, the Scimitars lost Steve Duncombe to injury during the warm-up and were already without Raitanen and Wallace. The Raiders needed the two points in their battle to make the play-offs and turned up the physical play when they got increasingly frustrated at being denied until halfway into the 2nd period. Lloyd Gibson left the game in the first period after taking a puck to the face leaving Sheffield minus two D-men. Romford won the majority of the face-offs and were quick on the breakaways, even during a 5-on-3 penalty kill with Jones having to make some good saves, and Lee for Romford denying any of Sheffield's attempts. Sheffield's 5-on 3 powerplay was continually disrupted by Romford with only one real chance on net by Dowd, and the first period ended 0-0.

Another penalty at the start of the 2nd went the same way. A good save from a forward pass from behind the net then set up Tom Squires who put Sheffield ahead with a top-shelf shot from the blue-line at 27.27, followed shortly after by Slamiar finding the top of the net at 28.32. The Raiders turned feisty with more bodychecks and rough play taking Sheffield being off their usual game. Romford scored a short-handed goal after Pinnington was sent to the box for hooking Barron hard round the neck, as they worked a 2 on 1 breakaway whilst the teams were 4 on 4. A PP goal at 42.09 put Romford ahead, with second pass out from behind the net to a player in front put the score 4-2. The fifth goal and a hat-trick for Bochna (MOM) resulted from yet another breakaway after an outlet pass from one zone to the other blue-line, and Bowns replaced Jones in goal, with Ron Shudra being awarded MOM.
