On Saturday, the Scimitars travelled down to Chelmsford to face a team who had rarely lost on home ice all season. While Sheffield did not play with their usual intensity and style, they managed keep the pressure on the Chieftains to achieve the right result. The top lines were firing well, with Millie getting on the score sheet first with a powerplay goal at 15.49 via Stewart and Roberts. In the second period Stewart scored at 26.04, though Chelmsford halved the lead almost immediately with their first of the evening at 26.16, and then put the pressure back on by levelling the score at 35.39.

The Scimitars again took the lead at 41.32 with Roberts striking the first goal of his hat-trick (from Stewart & Morgan) but with frustration and indiscipline creeping in to the Chieftains game, Roberts, assisted both times by Towe and Shudra, scored 2 powerplay goals in quick succession at 58.11 and 59.39 to seal the game at 5-3. Roberts was awarded MOM. On the whistle tempers flared and four players were penalised with 34 minutes of penalties for roughing, which also continued briefly off the ice.

With the Scimitars just one point ahead of second-placed Bracknell, next weekend's game against Bracknell Bees will be hugely influential on who wins the League title race. It takes place at iceSheffield next Saturday, face-off at 7.15pm.
