On Saturday, the Scimitars faced Chelmsford for their third encounter this season and got off to what seemed like an excellent start when puck went in the back of the net @ 37 seconds from a shot by Brittle, but which was disallowed. Shudra scored the first goal of the period at 14.29 with a slapshot from the blue line from a pass by Towe, with the second goal coming at 16.51 from a brilliant solo run by Dowd down the length of the ice, across the face of the net and in at the far post on a delayed penalty call. This gave the Scimitars a two goal lead going in to the first period break and could have been more with several accurate shots at Mofffat.

Dowd scored his second of the night and the only goal during the second period at 36.59, from a good pass from Towe and Brittle while the Chieftains were getting frustrated. Shots on goal and penalty minutes were fairly equal at the end of the second period though with the scoreline at 3-0 in the Scimitars' favour. The line changes in this game seemed to be working well.

A spate of penalties on Sheffield in the third period allowed the Chieftains to get back in the game, scoring at 42.43 & 59.31. The play was fast and end to end but Sheffield managed two more strikes to increase the lead by 3 goals, with goals from Millie straight under the keeper from a Robert's pass at 45.27 and an empty net goal at 59.31, with the final scoreline reading 5-2.
