The Scimitars had rather lost the winning edge to their game with injuries to key players necessitating further line changes, which has disrupted the Scimitars early season successful rhythm.

On Sunday, the Scimitars, again missing Millie, Dowd, Brittle and Rose, but gaining a 4th import for the first time this season, struggled to make much headway in a game against Milton Keynes who seemed on a mission. There had been talk of player changes within that team prior to this weekend's games, so the pressure was on them to impress the coach.

Conceding two early goals, at 2.12 and 4.42, put the Scimitars on the back foot and they never gained the initiative throughout the whole game. Milton Keynes were mostly the first to the puck, turning over play and keeping possession in their offensive zone where they constantly looked threatening. The Scimitars reduced the deficit by scoring at 8.48, an unassisted goal on his debut for the Scimitars, ex-Steeler, Steve Roberts on a solo run through 3 Milton Keynes players and shot in right in front of the net. Again Milton Keynes regained their two goal advantage at 14.37 from a cross-goal pass.

Sheffield pulled another goal back at 22.12 on the third shot attempt, by Towe from Turner and Shudra, rather against the run of play. Every time the Scimitars closed the gap, Milton Keynes increased the pressure, scoring their 4th goal at 24.44. Shudra replied yet again at 25.39 but Milton Keynes wrapped up their scoring with their 5th goal at 28.58. The period was hard fought, and end to end hockey, and goals against could have been more without some fine saves by Pasi.

The Scimitars seemed to play better in the third, applying more pressure on the opposition net but without being able to bury the puck from several good attempts. After changing netminders briefly, the Scimitars were able to bring on an extra import player during a powerplay and Morgan scored to go 4-5 at 57.47. The goalies were then swapped back, but, despite a great attempt the Scimitars were unable to find a tying goal and the game ended as a 4-5 loss.
