Match Report | 12th November 2006 » Bracknell Bees 8-2 Sheffield Scimitars

Face Off: 6.00pm, Sunday 12th November 2006

The pendulum swung in Bracknell's favour in the second and they came out pressing hard, shutting the Scimitars down defensively and reducing them to just 1 shot on goal in 20 minutes compared to Bracknell's 17 shots on Raitanen. The puck was increasingly being turned over with the Bees disrupting the Scimitars' usual fast, open game, which was not helped by having different line combinations due to injuries. With no answer to Bracknell's 3 goals in 8 minutes, the period ended 4-2 in their favour.

The Scimitars fared worse in the third as Bracknell's confidence rose, Sheffield looked increasingly tired and the Bees were on a mission. The Scimitars kept working hard though even after three more goals had gone in and tightened up defensively after a goalie change with eight minutes left on the clock. The Bees wrapped up the game at 54.17 with their 8th goal and the Scimitars could not reply despite increasing their shots on Bracknell's goal. The Scimitars will hope to have one or two players back in the line-up for next Saturday's game against Peterborough at 7.15 at iceSheffield.
