The Scimitars in Telford on Saturday, suffered from a surfeit of penalties in the first and second periods, with neither team able to get into their stride, passes going astray and players fearful of what action might get called next.

Telford's speedy forward, Paul Graham scored SH at 7.51, but the Scimitars' replied at 11.27 with a PP goal by Matt Towe from Millie and Stewart, ending the period 1-1.

The Scimitars sealed the game in the second period, despite the higher penalty count, scoring 4 goals to Telford's one. Butterworth scored his first at 23.28 from Towe, to take the lead. Millie had an early shower after being given a harsh 5 plus game for hooking, but the Scimitars killed off the 5 minute penalty, and extended their lead with a well-worked SH goal by Shudra from Towe and Brittle at 30.08. Telford responded at 34.25 (PP) but two more goals came in quick succession at 37.44 from MOM Butterworth and 39.00 from Brittle.

ZT was not a factor in the 3rd period with several missed calls and only 2 minutes penalties for each team. Sheffield were quite happy to take the win though in a difficult away rink.
